Hi Friends,

If you are facing this problem
failed to create jvm error code -4 JVM Path: C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.7.0_45\jre If you already have a 32-bit JDK installed, define a JAVA_HOME variable in Which is not solved.

Then here is the solution:

Go to C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\bin\studio.exe.vmoptions

or open the path where you have installed your Android Studio and open the "studio.exe.vmoptions" file in Notepad or Notepad++.

Open it in Notepad or Notepad ++ and change the following attributes

-Xmx512m to -Xmx256m

OR

  2. My file looks like the string below. no ".vmoptions"
    C:\Program Files\Android\Android Studio\bin\studio.exe
Also when I open in Hotepad I get garbled stuff and I don't see where I can change any attributes.
What step is not being shown? or what am I doing wrong?

    1. Hi Loki,

I think you are opening the wrong file. The file you need to open is "studio.exe.vmoptions" inside the bin folder of Android Studio.

Just right click on this file and open it in Notepad or Notepad++, where you can edit the attributes that are need to change/edit.

I also have added the screenshot for your reference in the post above.
